Experience Scottish Golf

For the avid golfers on your trip, you’ll have the opportunity to play a round at the stunning Tain Golf Course – nestled by the River Tain, this course offers breathtaking views of the Dornoch Firth and the Scottish Highlands. With 18 holes spread across 6,404 yards, this championship-length links course is perfect for those who want to experience a challenge that blends classic links and heathland, perfectly encapsulating the best of Scottish golf. After a full day of golfing, you’ll rejoin the rest of your group and continue to make your way back to your cruise.

Please note that those who choose to golf will also be able to do the Glenmorangie tour, but not the Dunrobin Castle tour.

Marvel at the History of Scotland’s Clans

For those who would prefer a deeper insight into the history of Scotland, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the enchanting Dunrobin Castle, the most northerly of Scotland’s great houses.

Take some time to wander the halls of the historic home of the Earl of Sutherland, Chief of Clan Sutherland, and marvel at the early medieval fort, remodelled in 1835 in the iconic French styling. You’ll be able to explore the vibrant Victorian-style gardens built in the wake of the castle, or marvel at the collection of ancient Pictish stones located in the largest private collection museum in the British Isles. There’s also a chance that you’ll spot the Dunrobin Castle Falconry display, where you’ll be able to watch an aerial performance and learn about the history of the art.

Please note that those who choose to visit Dunrobin Castle will also be able to do the Glenmorangie tour, but not participate in the golf.

Best of Single Malt Scotch

During your excursion, you’ll have the option to visit the famous Glenmorangie Distillery, producer of Scotland’s best-selling single malt, for a tour and tasting. Here, you will learn about the story and history of Glenmorangie, see the bourbon casks where they mature the iconic 12-year-old single malt, and taste two of their “core expressions” range.

The tour will include plenty of refreshment breaks and photo stops, including a lunch stop in the quaint seaside town of Dornoch, which dates back to the 8th century. You’ll have time to grab a bite to eat at one of the local cafés or restaurants and explore the town’s cobbled streets and ancient cathedral.
