Take in some of Scotland's most spectacular landscapes, from the iconic Old Man of Storr and dramatic Quiraing to the magical Fairy Glen and breathtaking Fairy Pools. Explore the historic Dunvegan Castle, home to Clan MacLeod for centuries, and enjoy incredible coastal views, waterfalls and Highland scenery along the way.
After departing from Portree, the colourful capital of Skye, we travel north towards one of the island's most famous landmarks, the Old Man of Storr. This towering rock formation is one of Scotland's most photographed sights, rising dramatically above the surrounding landscape. We'll stop here for photos and to admire the incredible views across the Sound of Raasay.
Continuing along Skye's spectacular coastline, our next stop is Lealt Falls, where waterfalls tumble through a rugged gorge towards the sea. From here, we visit Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls, where dramatic cliffs resemble the pleats of a traditional Scottish kilt and a stunning waterfall plunges over the cliff edge into the sea below.
Our Isle of Skye adventure continues to the Quiraing, one of the island's most extraordinary natural landscapes. Formed by ancient landslides, this dramatic area is famous for its towering cliffs, unusual rock formations and breathtaking views. It's a fantastic opportunity to capture some unforgettable photographs of Skye's wild scenery.
Next, we make our way to the enchanting Fairy Glen, a unique landscape of small, cone-shaped hills and winding paths. With its unusual formations and magical atmosphere, it's easy to see why this beautiful spot has become associated with fairy folklore. Take some time to explore and discover one of Skye's most charming hidden gems.
After exploring the north of the island, we travel west to the historic Dunvegan Castle, the ancestral home of Clan MacLeod for over 800 years. Situated on the shores of Loch Dunvegan, this magnificent castle is steeped in Highland history and surrounded by beautiful gardens.
You'll have time to explore the castle and gardens (optional extra), discover the fascinating history of Clan MacLeod and enjoy lunch in the picturesque surroundings.
When Dunvegan Castle is closed, we'll instead visit the spectacular Neist Point, one of the most westerly points on the Isle of Skye. Famous for its dramatic sea cliffs and iconic lighthouse, it's another fantastic location to admire Skye's rugged coastline.
Our final adventure takes us to the world-famous Fairy Pools, nestled beneath the dramatic Cuillin Mountains. These beautiful natural pools and waterfalls are famous for their crystal-clear waters and stunning turquoise colours, making them one of Skye's most popular attractions.
Enjoy a scenic walk alongside the cascading waterfalls, taking in the impressive mountain scenery and peaceful surroundings. With plenty of time to explore and take photographs, it's the perfect way to round off an incredible day on the Isle of Skye.
After a day discovering Skye's spectacular landscapes, fascinating history and natural wonders, we return to Portree, where your Ultimate Isle of Skye Day Tour comes to an end.
Please Note:
Dunvegan Castle is expected to be open from 1st April to 15th October 2027 (dates to be confirmed). When the castle is closed, the tour will visit Neist Point instead.
