Oasis at Murrayfield: What to do in Edinburgh While You're Here

30 Jul 2025

On August 8th, 9th, and 12th, 2025, Oasis will be walking along the winding roads to Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. The tickets were notoriously difficult to get, but if you’re reading this, you must have managed. Congratulations. I’m definitely not jealous…

If you’re visiting Edinburgh for the concert, you might want to see a bit more of our beautiful city while you’re here. It would be rude not to, after all.

So, here’s a list of some of the best things to do while visiting!

Visit a Museum

Edinburgh is home to some fantastic museums. For starters, we have the National Museum of Scotland - home to countless displays and visiting expositions. As well as plenty of interactive things to do, and a lovely wee café of course. For the braver, there’s also the Surgeons’ Museum - filled to the brim with medical marvels, and the odd body part here and there. Maybe not the best idea for the squeamish.

Go Shopping

We are lucky to have a great selection of shops here in Edinburgh. From the brand-new St James Quarter in the heart of the city, the luxurious Multrees Walk for the finer things in life, or the bustling Princes and George Streets. Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to these places, as round almost every corner you’ll find some kind of boutique or shop to satisfy those shopping urges. Maybe save it till after the concert though.

Go Ghost Hunting

Edinburgh is renowned for it’s history, and some of those historical figures apparently have hung around. Whether you want to explore the spooky Blair St Vaults, or venture down into Mary King’s Close - you might not be alone… And that’s certainly one way to get over the post-concert depression.

Climb Arthur’s Seat

Had a few too many drinks at the Oasis concert? There’s a surefire way to shake off the cobwebs - climb Arthur’s Seat. Dominating the Edinburgh skyline, the extinct volcano (yes, it’s a volcano!) sits at the heart of the city, and it couldn’t be easier to get to the top of it for unparalleled views. There’s easier routes, and there’s harder routes - and I will absolutely not judge you for taking the easier route.

Visit Edinburgh Castle

You really can’t miss it. Plonked right in the centre of the city, Edinburgh Castle is truly an iconic sight. Full of royal history, with incredible views, and even the reported ghost or two. A visit to Edinburgh Castle is a must for any first-time visitor to the city. Simply head up the Royal Mile, nip into a couple of shops on the way of course - and before you know it you’ll be at the castle and ready to explore.

Head Out on Tour

Got a bit more time to spare and an itch to see some more of Scotland? Head out on a 1-day tour!

Our tours will be running as normal throughout both the Edinburgh Fringe and the Oasis concerts. Whether you want to visit Loch Lomond, the Kelpies, St Andrew’s, or even venture as far away as Loch Ness or the Glenfinnan Viaduct - all are within reach on our 1-day tours from Edinburgh.

See a Fringe Show

Speaking of the Edinburgh Fringe - it’s a happy coincidence that the Oasis concerts are on at the same time! So if you’re looking for the perfect way to fill an August day in Edinburgh. You’ve found it. With over 3,000 shows available ranging from circus to cabaret, theatre and art, to everything in between. There will absolutely be a show for you.

Granted, it can be difficult to choose, so click below to view our list of some unmissable shows at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025.

Our Edinburgh Fringe 2025 Recommendations

Enjoy a Whisky (or two)

You might think that you need to head to the highlands or Islay for some incredible whisky, but we have plenty right on our doorstep. Whether you head to the fantastic Johnnie Walker Experience at the top of Princes St for a tour and tasting, or the brand-new Port of Leith Distillery which dominates the Leith shoreline to experience the birth of a new whisky.

Or, if whisky isn’t your sip of choice, head to the Edinburgh Gin experience for a cheeky G&T. You could even do it before the Oasis concert to get yourself in the mood.

Explore the City

Sometimes the best day in Edinburgh is one spent just exploring the streets. From the iconic Victoria Street and the Royal Mile, to the bustling streets of Stockbridge in the new town, home to some fantastic charity shops and cafés - you might even find the perfect outfit for the Oasis gig.

Catch Another Gig

If the Oasis gig didn’t quite quench your thirst - why not visit some iconic Edinburgh music venues to see if there are any other events on. Places like Sneaky Pete’s, Bannerman’s and Stramash located in the city centre often have fantastic live music on. You might even discover your new favourite thing!

Again, like I said, totally not jealous and hope you have a wonderful time at the concert.

If I stand outside my flat I'll be able to just about hear it - so it's actually like I have a ticket. Right?...
