Departing Portree, your tour with Skye Minibus Tours sets off north towards the North coast of the island, stopping first near Uig, Gateway to the Western Isles, for the Fairy Glen. The Glen is a unique and unusual landscape featuring small round-topped grassy hills with ponds or "lochans" in between, giving the area an ethereal feel. Enjoy a walk through the land of the fairies, with time for photos and perhaps make a wish.
Travel further north to the Museum of Island Life. Here you will get a glimpse into how life used to be for the islanders and explore the old cottages, or "Black Houses". Afterwards, take a stop at Flora MacDonald's memorial and learn about how important she was to the Isle of Skye.
Moving on, you will stop at the Quiraing for a chance to stretch our legs and take photos of the magnificent landscape surrounding us, before we stop for lunch at the small village of Staffin.
The next stop is Kilt Rock for photos of Mealt Falls and the Basalt Pillars. Travel to Lealt Falls for another beautiful photo opportunity and the chance to enjoy Skye's unique landscape.
Your last stop of the day is the Old Man of Storr. This iconic rock formation is a must for all visitors to the Isle of Skye. We then return to Portree, where our Trotternish Tour with Skye Minibus Tours ends.
“Robert knew so much about the island and told us things we never would have known if we had gone on our own. He even told us about the rabbits, haggis, fairies and teddy bears! He took us to a lot of locations but we feel like we had plenty of time at each to enjoy it. He was an excellent driver and the bus was clean and comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone and would do another tour with them in a heartbeat. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Robert and George for a great day!”
