Timberbush Tours pledges support to RSPB Scotland
Timberbush Tours has recently pledged support to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, helping to support the work at Corrimony Nature Reserve, Glen Affric, in the Highlands of Scotland.
We are offering our support in a number of ways, encouraging our staff to recycle old mobile phones and ink cartidges in RSBP bags, distributing information via the staff newsletter to encourage our team members to volunteer on projects and by making a donation to the work carried out at Corrimony Nature Reserve, in the heart of the Caledonian pine forest within Glen Affric.
This stunning woodland reserve is home to a diverse range of birds and wildlife including the black grouse and the red squirrel, and forms one of the richest and oldest eco-systems in the UK.
The Corrimony project is incredibly important because it seeks to expand the fragments of scattered native woodland in the Glen Affric area, and establish a vital link between Corrimony and the neighbouring Caledonian forest, with the aim of creating 750 hectares of native woodland.
Our partners at The Famous Grouse Experience are also supporting the RSPB with the sales of their special Black Grouse whisky.
In the last 15 years the black grouse population has decreased by 80%, with only 5000 males showing at the last census. For every bottle of the Black Grouse whisky sold a donation will be made to fund habitat management and restoration work at a number of sites across the UK to benefit the endangered black grouse populations.
Timberbush Tours is proud to support the work of the RSBP. Watch this space for further developments later in the year.
