Explore Perthshire's scenic lochs and glens and visit Scotland's oldest distillery, The Famous Grouse Experience. New 'Tours on the Moors' RSPB wildlife option on Wednesday tours from April to September!
Leaving Glasgow we travel to the Aberfoyle area, where our first stop is the Scottish Wool Centre. We continue north via the Pass of Leny, pausing for photo stops of the spectacular views at Loch Achray and Loch Drunkie in the Trossachs.
Travelling via Loch Earn and Strathearn Valley, our next stop is Crieff, where we visit The Famous Grouse Experience, Scotland's oldest distillery, which dates back to 1775. Here we can enjoy a fascinating and fun tour, sample a 'dram' and have lunch in the award-winning restaurant.
After lunch we make a brief stop to explore the 14th Century Doune Castle, and finally make our way to the imposing Stirling Castle, with its turbulent past and associations to some of Scotland's most interesting historic figures, including William Wallace and Mary, Queen of Scots. Enjoy time here before your return to Glasgow.
Limited Edition Tours on the Moors: Wednesdays only, from 15th April to September '09
At The Famous Grouse Experience on Wednesdays enjoy an additional unique wildlife tour experience, exclusively with Timberbush Tours. Make a special visit with your Timberbush and RSPB guides off the beaten track by coach, up to Loch Turret and the Grouse Moors behind the distillery - home to the endangered black grouse and other spectacular wildlife. Stop at the Boathouse with wonderful views over Loch Turret, and learn some weird and wonderful facts about the birds from your RSPB guide! This tour is free but a donation to the RSPB is requested.
*Please note that only vehicles of 16 & 19 seats can access this area - for larger groups there will be an alternative tour/demonstration with the RSPB guide on the distillery site.
