DAY 1
Taking the route north west past STIRLING, we make a stop at the WALLACE MONUMENT - erected to commemorate William Wallace of 'BRAVEHEART' fame - scene of one of the most important moments in Scottish history. You might walk in GLENCOE - a glen both famous and infamous for its bloody history - as we make for FORT WILLIAM, nestling beneath Scotland's tallest mountain, BEN NEVIS. Walking in GLEN NEVIS you will soon realise why this amazingly beautiful and green place has been used as the site of such movies as 'BRAVEHEART', 'ROB ROY' and 'HIGHLANDER'. You then have an evening to spend in FORT WILLIAM as you please.
DAY 2
Our second day is an adventure to the North West - up the GREAT GLEN and then the 'ROAD TO THE ISLES'. West towards the mountains of KNOYDART, taking a narrow pass through KINTAIL, passing the famous 'FIVE SISTERS' mountains to the famous EILEAN DONAN CASTLE, with the mountains of the island of SKYE in the distance - something you will never forget! Then on to mysterious LOCH NESS; FORT AUGUSTUS with its impressive flight of locks; SPEAN BRIDGE, LOCH LAGGAN and the 900 foot LAGGAN DAM, begun in the 1920s and only finally finished in 1943! We will pass through DALWHINNIE, where LOCH ERICHT meets GLEN TRUIM, and home of Scotland's highest malt whisky distillery before heading south to EDINBURGH. But not before we have admired BLAIR CASTLE, the lush woodland of BLAIR ATHOLL and perhaps stopped for a brief stroll through THE HERMITAGE.
