Timberbush & The Environment
Timberbush Tours are conscious of the natural environment and how, as a business, we operate within our natural environment.
All our vehicles are cleaned by hand and we do not use detergents or aerosols, in order to try to minimise the impact of this on the environment. In our reservations and transport offices, where possible, we attempt to recycle materials such as printer cartridges and computers, as well as mobile phones.
We also aim to support local businesses and communities when we transport passengers on our extended tours, so that they can contribute to sustaining local communities.
Because we are also conscious of the volume of passengers we transport to the Highlands, and in particular the area around Loch Ness, one of the most beautiful parts of the world, Timberbush Tours has recently pledged support to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. (RSPB)
This support will allow us to make a contribution to developments in the great work which is being done in the Corrimony Nature Reserve, in the heart of the Caledonian pine forest within Glen Affric.
This stunning woodland reserve is home to a diverse range of birds and wildlife including the black grouse and the red squirrel, and forms one of the richest and oldest eco-systems in the UK.
The Corrimony project is incredibly important because it seeks to expand the fragments of scattered native woodland in the Glen Affric area, and establish a vital link between Corrimony and the neighbouring Caledonian forest, with the aim of creating 750 hectares of native woodland.
Timberbush Tours is proud to support the work of this project and we encourage our customers to visit the RSPB site at www.rspb.org.uk /scotland
We look forward to collaborating with the RSPB on more activities throughout the year.
