Highland Lochs, Glens & Whisky Tour

New limited edition Tours on The Moors wildlife option, Tuesdays from 14th April 2009

Explore Perthshire's scenic lochs and glens and visit Scotland's oldest distillery. Enjoy a unique new wildlife tour with the RSPB on Tuesday tours and learn more about the black and red grouse!

Leaving Edinburgh we travel into Fife for our first stop at Dunfermline Abbey, then we head towards Crieff, passing the famous resort of Gleneagles. At Glenturret Distillery, we can take a fascinating and fun tour of Scotland's Oldest Distillery (Est. 1775) at The Famous Grouse Experience, sample a 'dram' and enjoy lunch in the award-winning restaurant.

In the afternoon we head to Dunkeld and Birnam Wood where we make a stop at The Hermitage for a gentle woodland walk before returning to Edinburgh via Perth and Loch Leven.

Limited Edition Tours on the Moors*: Tuesdays from 14th April until September 2009

At The Famous Grouse Experience on Tuesdays, enjoy an additional unique wildlife tour experience and exclusive to Timberbush Tours customers. Make a special visit with your Timberbush and RSPB guides off the beaten track by coach up to Loch Turret and the Grouse Moors behind the distillery  - home to the endangered black grouse and other spectacular wildlife. Stop at the Boathouse, with its wonderful views over Loch Turret, look for the grouse yourself using telescopes and binoculars and learn some weird and wonderful facts about the birds and their environment!

This tour is free but a donation to the RSPB is requested. The tour will depart from the distillery at 12.45, after your whisky tour and lunch break.

*Please note that only vehicles of 16 & 19 seats can access this area - for larger groups there will be an alternative tour with the RSPB guide on the distillery site.
